Charlton's 6th Birthday

Today is my only boy's 6th birthday and I know this time I made him and his sister happy.  It was not a big celebration but still happiness and contentment are evident on their faces because of the presence of their friends and the parlor games we had.  It really is very easy to please them and make them happy so I don't know why I took it away from them last Christmas.

To Charlton:

You may be full of mischief with your pranks and everything headache-y but I know you are a good boy with a kind heart.  You are the "KUYA" of our home and I know I can count on you to take care of your sisters. Just bear in mind what I told you to remember always, that we love you no matter what. Happy birthday, Darling!

A Sad Christmas for the Kids

Let the spirit of love
gently fill our hearts and homes.
In this loveliest of seasons
may you find many reasons for happiness.

So how was your Christmas? If you ask me, it was just okay.  But if you ask my kids, it was not.  I can't blame them.  It is all my fault and I regret taking the happiness away from them.

First, I didn't put up Christmas decorations in our house, not even a Christmas tree because I was kind of mad pissed when our Christmas decorations got lost in the storage room and I lost the interest to buy a new one.  I didn't realize that by doing so I took not only the Christmas spirit in our house but also the excitement of the kids to celebrate Christmas.  You see, they believe in Santa Claus and this year, they didn't receive any gifts from Santa because they don't have a Christmas tree to hang their socks on.   Oh, I'm so sorry kids.

But it seems I was not contented with what I have done.   I hurt their feelings more when I didn't hold a party for them, a party they were used to enjoy with their friends/neighbors for years.  They were longing for that party because they love to play parlor games, eat nonstop and sing the karaoke with their friends (no need to buy karaoke cds since we only rent a karaoke machine). But sadly, they had none of those because I was being selfish.  I slept right after the Christmas Eve dinner!

I know I was wrong and I was sorry for that.  Anyway, I talked to my kids, Champagne and Charlton, and I told them I will make up this New Year and of course, next Christmas will be an unforgettable one for them.

Little Angel At Eleven Months

Early this morning, she can barely walk a few steps.  Just before noon, here's her progress...

Yes, she can walk alone! And to think she just turned eleven months yesterday! Amazing, right?  Well, she was happy that she can finally walk that she spend most of the afternoon having fun cruising the house, standing each time she falls and plastering a big smile every time she arrives on our arms or on a nearby furniture.

Everyday, my little girl never fails to amaze me and worry me at the same time.  Now, that she is constantly moving around, I am scared to let her out of my sight even for just a few seconds. I am never overprotective, though,  as I want her to learn.  Of course, I am watching over her safety more so now that she loves to climb the stairs.  My! She's got so much energy that I feel drained by the end of the day but that is nothing compared to the joy that she brings to us.  I love it that she deeply adores her siblings, Champagne and Charlton and that the two feels the same to her. Smiley

Milestones:

  • she can walk alone!
  • dances when she hears fast-paced music
  • points to her fingers if asked to count and claps her hands afterwards
  • puts her hands on her mouth when asked to give a flying kiss
  • plants her open-mouthed kiss when asked
  • loves to play peek-a-boo
  • pulls up to standing position from sitting position
  • stands alone well
  • is getting talkative but most of them incomprehensible Smiley
I can't wait to celebrate her first birthday and that would be less than a month from now.  Smiley

MM: Yesterday's Dream

I remember singing this song during my elementary years.  In fact, I can still remember the whole song and the lyrics.  I also use this song to put my kids to sleep.  I just love the message of the song and truly and inspiration for children.  Happy MM on a Tuesday!

MM: Solo

Yesterday was Charlton's school's foundation and as their tradition, all preschoolers will have a dance presentation. Charlton's class danced by the tune of Solo and instead of attaching here Iyaz video, I have here Charlton's video. If you're wondering which of these cute boys is Charlton, he is the chubby boy at the back wearing black polka dots tie.

Happy Music Monday!

Fight For Life

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death and it is heartbreaking when children, most of all are inflicted with it, thereby, making them suffer a diminished quality of life. These children would be unable to live a “normal” life as most children should because they are prone to infections of all types. Kids with this life-sucking disease are often alone for long, extended periods of time. Not to mention the expensive treatments to help them live longer in which most of them can’t afford. In this regard, it is indeed admirable for individuals who would go all the way just to help support these hapless victims, may it be financial, physical, emotional or spiritual.

Step Juan, for example, is a project started by a noble young man whose selfless dream is to raise funds for the treatment of cancer children under the Cancer Warriors treatment program. It is a walking expedition done by only one man, Tomas Leonor, an avid mountaineer and a passionate artist. The idea is to walk miles for several weeks straight without any means of vehicular assistance, stopping only for food and rest. He and his friends hope to raise funds through donations that will go straight to the Cancer Warriors Foundation for immediate treatment. They are all volunteers on this project united under one common working goal which is to help cure children inflicted with cancer.

We, too, in our own little ways can help these cancer victims, children and adult alike. There are a lot of cancer foundations we can contact and offer our help. We may pledge any amount to buy medicines, sponsor a child’s treatment, sponsor an event and make the chosen foundation the beneficiary or simply just take some time and be there. We may also celebrate special moments with them as these moments of fun could bring them joy and relaxation in their pain wrecked lives.  We may also donate car.   Car donation is also essential in supporting the fight as it can fight cancer through research, education, advocacy, service and support.

If there’s a will, there’s a way. Get involved and join the fight!

Crying Over Justin

I am not a teenager so obviously, I am not a very huge Justin Bieber fan.  However, I find this video of a 3 year old little girl  crying over Justin so amusing most especially on the part "I bet that's Justin Bieber".  On the contrary, I find it a little bit weird for a girl as young as her to be in love.  Oh well, look at her, she's giggling.

This video is a reply to the original one which is embedded by request.  If you want to see the the said video, you may watch it here.

    Hello Room!

We used to live in my parents-in-law's house for two years and since we only have one room then, we let the kids, Champagne and Charlton sleep on the same bed with us. By the time we moved to our own house, the kids won't just sleep in their own respective rooms. I don't know if they are just scared or if they are just comfortable with us nearby but it is always a struggle every time we put them to sleep. In the end, its either they are in our room or someone is with them in Champagne's room. (Charlton's room is empty as they won't sleep separately)

Just last Sunday, though, I was able to talk Charlton to sleep in his room. I let someone sleep beside each of them as they are still afraid to sleep alone. I think it is a good start. At least, they are now sleeping in their own respective rooms. Just a little more time and they will be off sleeping alone. Kudos to them!

    Inspired Beautiful Blogger

It does feel great when someone calls you beautiful.  How much more if you're given an award in that regard? Inspiring, right? That is exactly how I felt times four when four exceptionally beautiful bloggers namely RhonaCarina, Jheriz and Josie, EihdraG,  gave me the Beautiful Blogger award.  A million of thanks to the three of you.

    Seven Things About Me:
    1. I have three wonderful and adorable kids who makes me happy and crazy at the same time.

    3.  I am the eldest of five children.  I have 3 younger sisters and 1 brother.
    4.  My parents are separated for more than ten years already and I am still hurting.
    5.  I have been blogging for almost two years now.
    6.  I can't dance. I can't sing. I can't cook. I can't write. I can't draw... and the list goes on... In short, I am the most untalented person you can ever find.

    Fluffy Friday #5: Goodbye Hershey

If you can remember my previous Fluffy Friday post about Hershey, she was so thin that time with fleas, ticks and worms. As you can see from the photos below which was taken just last Saturday, she looks healthier now and she has grown back her fluffy furs.

Sadly, though, she ran out of my MIL's gate last night towards the highway and was accidentally hit by a truck. Poor little Hershey died on the spot that we can do nothing to save her precious life. Rest in peace, Hershey, dearie!

    Printer Predicament

I was really disappointed with my printer last night. Of all times, it chose to break down when I was in a hurry to print Champagne’s assignment. For awhile, I was at a loss on what to do. There is no internet cafĂ© in the neighborhood. I have to go to the town proper to look for one but I can’t drive there using my car. Its projector headlights is just so dim that even if I have to open my eyes wide I still can barely see a thing in front of me. I can’t use hubby’s car because it has a manual transmission and I am not confident to drive it yet. I just can’t ask hubby to drive for me as he had a terrible headache and he really needed a rest. So I just tried repairing the printer myself but still to no avail. Only then have I decided to wait for morning.

I woke up early just to drive to town and print the required pictures. I was glad no problem aroused and I was able to hand it to Champagne just in time before she goes to school. I hate it when her teachers give them assignment such as this that needs to be submitted immediately. I also hate it when problems arouse and I just can’t do a thing. I just feel so useless. Anyway, I have to bring my printer to the technician today in case Champagne will have another assignment tonight. With regards to my car, I don’t know what to do it yet. Perhaps, I will ask hubby to change the projector headlights so I can drive at night. I hope it will be resolved soon.
